Game Time!!

Lately, my days have consisted of watching the NBA playoffs and every show that has to do with the finals. It’s my favorite time of the NBA season. The best part about it is that it brings my brother, sister and I even closer together. Although we live in different cities, we call each other after every game to chat and argue (mostly argue) about what went down. My brother is a Los Angeles Lakers fan, my sister a Boston Celtics fan and me, a Chicago Bulls fan. Because we all root for different teams you can just imagine all the arguing that goes on. For the past two years I’ve had to listen to my brother rant on and on about the Lakers and throughout the regular season listen to how the Lakers will 3peat. So, this year I took such pleasure calling my brother after the Lakers were SWEPT by the Dallas Mavericks, to simply laugh. I actually felt bad for him because he was truly sad! HAHAHA (my evil laugh) I am so happy that my team is the only one still in the playoffs and the Bulls WILL head to the Finals! LET’S GO BULLS!!

So, since I wanted to represent my team but also look fashionable doing it, I decided to add some pearls to my shirt and cut to a better fit. You all should know I am obsessed with pearls and mixing sporty and girly styles.  Because I am very petite I can’t pull off t-shirts very well and especially not a men size t-shirt (which is all I could find).  You can dress this shirt up with heals or dress down with flats. You can wear it with jeans or a skirt, so many options.  This is what happens when your two loves are basketball and fashion!

Hi, Gorgeous!

So, I randomly come across a bra catalog called “Bounce” and it really made me think about the bras that I had been buying. Their slogan is “Real life. Real bodies. Real bras.” The catalog is set up by bra sizes. I was shocked that they did not have any bras promising it is the best push up bra out there and will make me look a cup larger. That’s all you ever see now a days when shopping for a bra. The bras that were for my “A” cup girlies were so lovely, it was actually the first time I was excited about a bra (its usually a struggle to find a bra that actually fits). They had no underwire and no padding, not a typical option when searching for a bra.  I have always been on the search for the best push up bra. As soon as I saw the bras in the catalog I said to myself, you know what, I’m going to just embrace my small breasts and purchase these pretty, lacy bras with no padding, and no underwire (which I really don’t need at all).  Its interesting how because of my constant exposure to padded bras and society saying that big breasts are what’s “in” I felt I had no other option. I immediately, started my search and let me tell you it was not easy finding such a bra. There is not a big selection for small chested women, who want to embrace their size, and don't want a bra that looks so much like a training bra. My goal was to find a bra in which I could embrace my small girlies but still feel womanly. I found a few in stores and had to search online for a better selection.

My point of sharing this is that I had been saying that I was tired of hearing girls say I don’t like this or that about themselves or I wish this, I wish that, and I realized I was doing the same thing by always searching for the best push up bra.  I want everyone to embrace what they were blessed with and work with it. It would make every woman happy and confident and be able to focus on being the best they could be and not worry about what they are missing. Know your best feature and dress accordingly and you will always walk out the door feeling confident. Your mind is so powerful; your thoughts are so powerful. Start changing your negative thoughts into positive ones and see what a difference your attitude will be. Stop wishing and start loving and embracing. The essence of who you are has nothing to do with what you look like. Love yourself, work on yourself and be you. We are constantly given signs that we should look a certain way but we are all created differently and we are all beautiful and lovely in our different ways.

Spring Madness!!

March is with out a doubt my favorite time of the year! March to me means wonderful weather (around here), my birthday, spring training games and my other love, March Madness. This AMAZING weather has me digging for all my lovely, bright spring attire and shoving my jackets and scarves to the back of my closet.

My obsession this spring (so far): Crop tops. You can wear it so many ways, dressed up for a night on the town or just casual cool to hang with your girls, or go to the mall. Here are some of my favorite ways to wear the crop top this spring.
